In the 1957 a club known as the "Central Valley Iris Society" was formed. The club met in Riverbank, Ca. many of the iris shows were held in the basement of the "Modesto Irrigation District" building in Modesto Ca. the society was very vibrant, but as with all things the club began to decline, trying to generate more interest in the club, the meetings were moved to Stockton, Ca. but only lasted a few more years and was disbanded in 1986.
